مُحَمَّد المُصْطفیٰ ﷺ
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Seal of the Prophets · Mercy to the Worlds
The final Messenger of God, through whom the faith was completed. He is the origin of the household and of our lineage — the one of whom it was said that on the Day of Judgement every lineage is severed but his. To descend from his house is the honour the Shajra was written to preserve.
فاطِمَة الزَّهْرَاءؑ
Fatimah al-Zahra (S.A.)
al-Zahra, the Radiant · al-Batul · Sayyidat al-Nisa
The beloved daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, "a part of him" whom whatever pleased her pleased him. Mistress of the women of all the worlds, wife of Imam Ali, and mother of Hasan and Husayn. It is through her that the blood of the Prophet ﷺ flows into our family.
عَلی ابن اَبی طالِبؑ
Imam Ali (A.S.)
Amir al-Mu'minin · Haydar-e-Karrar · the First Imam
Cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet ﷺ, the first of the Imams, born within the Ka'ba itself. Bravest of men and gate of the city of knowledge, husband of Fatimah and father of the Imams who followed. His titles and virtues open the Shajra's account of the household.
الإمام الحَسَنؑ
Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (A.S.)
al-Mujtaba, the Chosen · the Second Imam
The elder grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, who resembled him in form and bearing from head to waist. Master, with his brother, of the youth of Paradise. It is through Imam Hasan that our family descends — the Hasani Sayyids trace their line from him, generation upon generation.
الإمام الحُسَينؑ
Imam Husayn (A.S.)
Sayyid al-Shuhada, Lord of Martyrs · the Third Imam
The younger grandson of the Prophet ﷺ, martyred at Karbala on the tenth of Muharram in the cause of truth — a sacrifice that stands at the very heart of the faith. Though our direct descent runs through his brother Imam Hasan, the two lines are joined within the family: his daughter Fatimah al-Sughra married Hasan al-Muthanna, so that the Husayni light shines within the Hasani line as well.
